{"id":185,"date":"2010-06-06T18:26:16","date_gmt":"2010-06-06T07:26:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lucazoid.com\/bilateral\/?page_id=185"},"modified":"2010-06-06T19:08:06","modified_gmt":"2010-06-06T08:08:06","slug":"push-and-pull-redfern","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/lucazoid.com\/bilateral\/projects\/push-and-pull-redfern\/","title":{"rendered":"Push and Pull Redfern"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3363\/3634969995_b3a71f7809.jpg\" alt=\"push and pull redfern\" \/><\/p>\n<p>May-June 2009.<br \/>\nA collaboration with Nick Keys and Astrid L&#8217;Orange. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2153\/2055837244_0df0f6dc85.jpg\" alt=\"push and pull instructions\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Push and Pull Redfern<\/em> was a local &#8220;re-doing&#8221; of Allan Kaprow&#8217;s early environment, <em>Push and Pull &#8211; A Furniture Comedy for Hans Hoffman<\/em> (1963) at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.locksmithprojectspace.com\/index.php?\/home\/\">Locksmith Project Space<\/a>, Redfern. <\/p>\n<p>Nick and Astrid (and me, to a lesser extent, as I was busy writing the final draft of my PhD thesis at the time!) very thoroughly documented their experiences in the work as it evolved over 3 weeks.<\/p>\n<p>My original motivations for doing this project were:<\/p>\n<p>-to experience what it would be like for myself (the Kaprow foundation sent us out <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pushandpull.com.au\/push-and-pull-the-text\/\">his original instructions (or &#8220;score&#8221;<\/a> to follow).<br \/>\n-to document our version of the work, so that it is available for future reference.<\/p>\n<p>Our version of the work was presented as part of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theregoestheneighbourhood.org\/kaprow.htm\">There Goes the Neighbourhood<\/a>, curated by Keg de Souza and Zanny Begg.<\/p>\n<p>The project blog (containing plenty of texts by Nick and Astrid, images, and timelapse videos) is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pushandpull.com.au\/about\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks also to Bec Dean from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.performancespace.com.au\/\">Performance Space <\/a>for helping make this happen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>May-June 2009.
