VISUAL ARTISTS say NO TO NOTHING but YES TO ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
\nWith a Federal election looming, the Sydney Arts Management Advisory
\nGroup (SAMAG) has invited the Federal Minister for the Arts, Shadow
\nMinister for the Arts and Arts spokespeople from the Australian
\nDemocrats and The Greens to debate arts policy.<\/p>\n
They will speak on how they see the future of the arts and what
\npolicies they have to support and enrich the arts industry.<\/p>\n
This meeting will be on Monday, 26 July 2004 at the Australia Council.<\/p>\n
Please come along and greet the Feds to let them know what matters to
\nvisual artists:
\nPROPER ACKNOWLEDGEMENT.
\nYo yos will be supplied or bring your own.<\/p>\n
This, our first echo action, is part of the VISUAL ARTISTS say NO TO
\nNOTHING national campaign (26 July – 30 August) that will carry the
\nSTARVING VISUAL ARTIST \u00e2\u20ac\u0153put the cliche’ to rest\u00e2\u20ac\u0153 PETITION to
\nCanberra.
\nPlease come along and Yo Yo your No No to the Feds and join us for a
\ncup of thermos coffee. At least come along and sign our petition.*<\/p>\n
* A petition will be present that calls for a standard artists’ fee
\nof no less than $2,000 per individual exhibition and a pro rata payment no
\nless than $500 for group exhibitions to be adopted by all publicly
\nfunded, visual art institutions, nationally.<\/p>\n
